custom furniture

There are many ways to customize the bentwood tables, the Kybos cabinets, and even the chairs, which have been made on occasion to fit particularly tall or diminutive people. More details about options are at the bottom of this page.

The wood and finish can be customized. In addition to cherry, iron-stained oak, and walnut (iron-stained or natural), other domestic hardwoods can be steam bent, especially maple. Finishes can also be altered, like leaving the oak natural or applying a black wax to accentuate the oak grain.

The dimensions of each configuration can be customized to a point. (In particular, smaller demands more of the wood as the curves get tighter.) Taller, shorter, longer, wider - contact me with the needs of the space and I will figure out what is possible.

The size, geometric shape, edge, and thickness of the glass top are customizable. All glass is ordered from a glass supplier and prices vary depending on the level of customization.

Kybos Cabinets

The wood and finish can be customized section by section. Combinations of cherry, iron-stained oak, walnut (iron-stained or natural), and maple are readily attainable. Now and again fruit wood or other special finds are also available.

The dimensions can be customized, as can the orientation of the construction (horizontal or vertical).

The cabinet can have a flat back to fit against a wall or remain three dimensional on the back.

The cabinet can hang on the wall or be free standing.

Panels can be wood or glass. Mirrors can be placed in the back and bottom of each cube.

Adjustable shelves are an option.

Seating

The wood and finish can be customized. The majority of chairs I build are smooth walnut, either natural or iron-stained, and occasionally carved. Cherry, oak, and maple are also available.

The dimensions can be customized.

Zoser stools can have a contrasting wood seat.
